Professional: I am an instructional technology trainer in Omaha, Nebraska. I have the privilege of working with educators across our school district on effective ways to integrate technology in their everyday instruction. My fifteen years in the classroom before this position gives me a passion for showing teachers that their investment of precious time in learning better ways to reach their students will pay off in the reward of seeing learning better and loving it.
I have taught courses for a number of colleges and poured my heart and soul into writing a course that I'm currently teaching for an Instructional Technology Leadership program. The course, "Best Practice in Elementary and Secondary Instructional Design and Implementation" allows me to work with educators on my favorites: curriculum, instructional design, technology integration, and pedagogy all rolled into one! Achievements:
Personal: My husband, a third grade teacher, and I have a shared goal of building that love for learning and life into our two boys. Our six year old son, who is an avid reader, learner, and "perfect" first born, and our 2 year old rambunctious, bull in a china store, older brother follower. He has also recently shown his passion for learning. I love being outside: running, biking, walks with the kids to the park, grilling, outdoor concerts, days at the lake...except during the harsh winter months. I love traveling, trying new things...yet love consistency and routine?? Not sure how that works. I could consume information online or in books all day long if I had no other responsibilities. I hope to be that 80+ year old still working out, traveling, and taking classes at the local college. |
